Bio
Remi Meum was born on February 17th, 1985 in Tønsberg, Norway’s oldest town. And although the five-times world champion is best known for his exploits in the world of snow kiting, his sporting roots actually lie within an altogether more summer-orientated past time - kite surfing. Although his interest in kite surfing grew into a passion for snow kiting, Remi still takes to the waves (and latterly, his wakeboard) when snow is scarce in the mountains.
But as soon as the first snow falls, Remi can be found in Norway’s best snow kiting spot, Hardangervidder, alongside other die-hard snow kiters in the community. He has been active in the sport for the best part of a decade, since he was scouted in 2003. Since then, the young Norwegian has travelled the world, shredding the slopes of countless countries for competitions and events. Thanks to his travels, Remi cites his favourite places to snow kite as Norway (naturally), New Zealand, Chile, and France.
In 2010, Remi not only scored yet another national championship title, but realised his dream of being crowned Snow Kite World Champion. In 2012, he also grabbed the top spot on the podium at Red Bull Ragnorak. In addition to his competitive successes, Remi has also earned some significant screen time in a number of snow kite movies, alongside the likes of Petter Johnsen, Kevin Steen, Sigve Botnen, “Frank”, Bjørn Kaupang, and Claes Lundin.
