Hi, my name is Mario Gomez. My discipline is soccer. I was born on 10 July 1985 in Riedlingen, Germany.

Bio

Mario Gomez is hot property in German soccer. His €30m transfer from VfB Stuttgart to Bayern Munich in May 2009 set a new Bundesliga record and saw him team up with international strike partner Miroslav Klose.

The high scorer reached 87 goals in 156 appearances for Stuttgart, winning the league in 2007 and earning the German Footballer of the Year title in the same season. Between 2008 and 2009, Mario scored 24 league goals in 32 appearances for Stuttgart, helping them to a third place finish, with Bayern finishing second.

Mario has dual nationality (having a German mother and Spanish father) but made his German national debut in a 3-1 victory over Switzerland in 2007, scoring the second goal. The prolific striker went on to score 10 goals in his first 25 appearances and featured in Germany’s Euro 2008 campaign, where the national team eventually lost to Spain in the championship final.

Making his debut with Bayern Munich in 2009, Mario was part of the championship-winning side that season. In 2011, he scored his 100th Bundesliga goal with a hat-trick in the epic 8-1 win over FC St Pauli and continues to demonstrate mastery on the field to this day.
