Bio
Triathlete Josef Ajram Tares was born in Barcelona on April 5, 1978 to a Syrian father and a Spanish mother. He owes his paternal grandfather for his introduction to cycling, and has developed a passion for adrenaline that permeates both his sport, and his job. In the stock market he is a day trader - pure vertigo and adrenaline. In his sporting career, he takes on the most demanding tests. In short, he lives for extreme sensations that require dynamism and calculation to achieve maximum performance.
Josef describes himself as obsessive and if he’s passionate about something then he won’t stop until he’s the best at it. He believes that to make dreams come true you need to call upon all the resources available and never become complacent or resigned to anything other than success.
While winning is clearly an objective, the triathlete’s philosophy is to feel good about his performance in the first instance. Josef even admits to enjoying his triathlon training more than the actual competitions. In 2010 he was a finisher in the Everis Tour – 3,850km over 23 stages – and was the Raids Champion of Spain with Team BUFF Thermocool. He also finished the Titan Desert event and the famed Marathon des Sables, where he was fourth with his team ‘Where is the limit?’. In 2011, he took the EPIC5 title (five Ironmans in 5 days in the 5 islands of Hawaii) and in 2012, his team won the Titan Desert, event.
