Hi, my name is Michael Beran. My discipline is BMX freestyle. My friends call me Berry. I was born on 10 July 1989 in Czech Republic. My special talent is box jumps and creating sick new tricks. My philosophy of life is don’t be a ghost of someone else; be original…. My favourite food is chicken steak with potato salad. My favourite music is Nicki Minaj, Enya, Moby… I like pretty much everything.

Michael Beran is without doubt the best Czech BMX freestyle rider out there. Beran – 'Berry' to his friends and fans – made it to the finals of high profile contests early in his career, including the BMX Masters and Vans Rebel Jam events. During the winter, he travels from Europe to the US where he can train at the world famous Woodward facility and ride with the world’s elite.

First hooked on BMX in 2004, he is now a fully-fledged member of the sport’s top professionals. In 2010 he made the podium in a whole host of contests, including a spectacular first place in the Hard Trick category at the Vans Rebel Jam. He also took the top honours in the Best Trick contest at the Nike 6.0 BCN BMX Pro event in Barcelona, Spain for his bikeflip to tailtap to tailwhip.

He has since taken home plenty more metalware, including from Simple Session 2013, where he grabbed second place in the BMX thanks to his history-making 360 bikeflip to tailwhip.

"I was born to do something, and I chose BMX," says Beran, and we're sure he couldn't have made a better choice.
