In 1992 Petr won his first World Champion title in the cadet class of Trial Biking. In his second season, the Bike Trial International Union (BIU) nominated Petr for the Elite class. At 17 years old, Petr was the youngest rider in this category, but managed to take a very respectable 4th place in the 1993 World Championships. The following year, it was as if Petr was unstoppable and he again took the World Championship title – the youngest rider in the championship’s history to do so.
In 1995 Petr took the decision to switch to trial on the classic mountain bike. It was at this time that he began working with his first sponsors, placing 4th at the World Championships in the Master MTB class. From 1996 to 1998, Petr went on to take 2nd place at the championships, finally taking the title of world’s best trial rider and World Champion for the third time in 1999.
Over a decade and a half on, Petr remains a pro trials rider, with a reputation for precise and refined style. He travels all around the world with his exhibitions and still competes in a number of sport events and freestyle mountain bike races every year.Read more
