When I got to ride pro, I think I realised my dream... and am still realising it

Hi, my name is Petr Kraus. My discipline is trialbiking. My friends call me bodyczech. I was born on 22 March 1976 in Czech Republic. My special talent is precision tricks and refined style. My philosophy of life is it’s not about how long you live, it’s HOW you live!. My favourite food is pizza, sushi and mexican food. My favourite music is funk, R'n'B and hardcore.

Bio

In 1992 Petr won his first World Champion title in the cadet class of Trialbiking. In his second season, the Bike Trial International Union (BIU) nominated Petr for the Elite class. At 17 years old, Petr was the youngest rider in this category, but managed to take a very respectable 4th place in the 1993 World Championships. The following year, it was as if Petr was unstoppable and he again took the World Championship title – the youngest rider in the championship’s history to do so.

In 1995 Petr took the decision to switch to trial on the classic mountain bike. It was at this time that he began working with his first sponsors, placing 4th at the World Championships in the Master MTB class. From 1996 to 1998, Petr went on to take 2nd place at the championships, finally taking the title of world’s best trial rider and World Champion for the third time in 1999.

Over a decade on, Petr remains as a pro trials rider, with a reputation for precise and refined style. He travels all around the world with his exhibitions and still competes in a number of sport events and freestyle mountain bike races every year.
