Mountain bike downhill ace Brook Macdonald takes on the Remarkables Mountain Range
We follow mountain bike ace Brook MacDonald as he heads to the heights of the Remarkables mountains in his native New Zealand.
Hailing from Onekawa in New Zealand, Brook is a Mountain Biking Downhill Junior World Champion and one of the top 15 downhillers on the planet.
The Remarkables got their name because they run directly north to south. Brook doesn’t really care as long as they also run downhill.
A more poetic explanation for the name is that early settlers in Queenstown called them The Remarkables after seeing the mountains at sunset.
Brook MacDonald vanishes into the distance as he starts his downhill run through the Remarkables.
'Take the bad with the good and live life to the full!' is Brook’s motto. On this evidence, he's certainly living up to it.
Brook loves expressing his creativity 'by doing something crazy'. Although that’s his attitude, his favourite people in the world are his mum and his granny.
Although he looks pretty edgy and fearless in this photo, Brook says he's happiest chilling out at home and he's scared of snakes.
