Art and fixed-gear freestyle combine for Red Bull Ride + Style in San Francisco on April 28.
Fusing fixed gear and art, Red Bull Ride + Style produces some of the most eye-catching, awe-inspiring bike action you’ll see anywhere on America's West Coast.
Featuring fixed-gear riders facing off in both track and freestyle competitions, with the ramps designed and decorated by local artists, the inaugural event in San Francisco, in 2011, brought together more than 50 riders from both coasts, including riders from fixed-gear meccas San Francisco, Portland, New York and even Japan.
Last year's top 10 finalists in both categories will be automatically invited back to this year’s event. While the remaining spots in freestyle are invite-only, the track competition will be open to all riders.
"Red Bull Ride + Style is the first big fixed-gear freestyle event," says track racer Jason Clary. "The fixed-gear scene and culture is growing so rapidly. With the evolution of the bikes, it’s just getting better," explains free rider Kenny Arimoto.
Red Bull Ride + Style is taking place at Justin Herman Plaza, San Francisco, on Saturday, April 28. Planning to attend the event? Log onto redbullusa.com/ridenstyle for more information and stay tuned to redbull.com/bike for highlights.
