Going into the race, cross country and endurance mountain bike athlete Rebecca Rusch was aiming high for a three-peat win at this year's Leadville Trail 100 race,
"I'm here two weeks early to acclimatise. The win is definitely on my mind but I'll also say that the womens' field here this year is head and shoulders above what it's been in the past. There's five, six, seven world class athletes that I know... so it's going to be an entirely different race."
In 2010, Rebecca bolstered her reputation as the Queen of Pain by finishing the Leadville 100 in 7:47:35, covering 100 miles of extreme terrain at high altitudes. Of her time, Rebecca said "I hope that I'm in the same or better shape as last year, and if that places me on top then I'll be super stoked."
Rebecca went on to take a third win at the Leadville 100, smashing her previous record with a time of 7:31:46. Watch the video below to see Rebecca's preparations through to her victorious race finish.
