BMX racer Chris Christensen takes first on the podium at Round 12 of the UEC BMX Euro championships
The first half of 2012 has been a positive one for 16 year old Danish BMX racer Chris Christensen, despite starting the year in recovery from a shoulder operation. The latest good news to come from the Christensen camp is that Chris took poll position at Round 12 of the UEC BMX European Championship in France last weekend, earning him yet another European Championship title.
Rounds 11 and 12 of the championship were held on the superb indoor track at the Parc des Expositions & des Congrès in Orléans, France over the extended weekend of the 4th, 5th and 6th May. Men and women competed in their respective classes, with competitors vying for championship titles within the Junior Novice, Junior and Elite classes respectively.
A storming performance earned Chris first place in Round 12 in the Junior Novice category, with Xavier Gonzalez-Bernard of France hot on his heels in second, and the Netherlands' Niels Berisink taking third position in the race.
The Round 12 win saw Chris take an overall win and the title of Junior Men Novice European Champion for this 2012 UEC BMX series.
