The inaugural Red Bull MTB Academy saw some of the hottest raw talents come together to hone their skills and receive advice from legend Dan Atherton and Head of Performance for Red Bull UK, Darren Roberts. The academy’s aim was to help the youngsters develop the skills you need to win elite events, just like Dan and famous siblings Gee and Rachel have done in World Cups.

Naturally, the weather intervened, as the wettest UK April on record dumped inches of rain on the proceedings, which just made for gnarlier conditions, and even better videos and images!

Red Bull Bike were also there, with cutting-edge slow-motion filmers on-hand to capture every raindrop and mudsplash in awesome detail, so watch our exclusive mini-series where Dan and Darren also explain the ethos and benefits of helping to develop careers of riders Dan says he could “barely keep up with” on the soaking trails around Crogen.
