Report: UCI World Cup XCO Rd 5

The full low-down from Mt. St Anne, Canada.
By Richard Cunynghame

Katerina Nash was once again in stunning form come race day and took her first ever World Cup victory in Mt St Anne ahead of Wloszczowska and series leader, Zakelj. Whilst Julie Bresset showed her recovery from injury is going well to finish fourth after leading for most of the race.

Fellow Olympic Champion, Jaroslav Kulhavy, also looked like returning to form before quickly being overshadowed by Nino Schurter and Julien Absalon. The battle continued between them until, whilst under pressure from Absalon, Schurter punctured allowing the Frenchman to storm ahead and take his first win of the season.

Schurter recovered after a wheel change for third whilst Jose Hermida came on strong at the end to take a well-deserved second.
