From the outside looking in, Rachel’s achievement may appear to have been a stroll in the park, however it was anything but.

Everything had to be and go right at every round. Even then, a certain amount of luck has to be on your side with mechanicals and courses waiting to trip you up. Rachel’s fitness, health and form also had to hold up.

Her 2016 was perfect in every way and going into the 2017 World Cup season, Rachel will take confidence in the fact that she has won all of the 14 previous UCI races on a run that stretches back to 2015.
