Alex Albon started his racing career at the age of six, karting around a course laid out by his father with bricks.By 2005, at just 8 years old Alex was racing competitively, had claimed his local Hoddesdon championship, raced in several rounds of Formula Six and won the best challenger award. As well as racing abroad in Malaysia, Alex has also several titles including the London Cup, the Vodafone Karting Challenge and the GP Kartmasters.
In 2009 he added the Winter Series, FKS Championship and Super 1 British Championship to his impressive haul of trophies. More recently the young talent secured back to back victories in the CIK FIA European and World Championships. In 2010 Alex was crowned KF3 European and World Karting Champion - the same series that Sebastian Vettel also won at this age in 2001.
Alex's talent is almost innate - he comes from a strong racing background, with father Nigel Albon a former BTCC and Porsche Carrera Cup driver. Alex is determined to make the best out of this year's step into open wheel cars. “2012 will be my first season in a Formula car, so it would be great if I could be the best rookie...".
