We take a closer look at Adrian Newey's brand-new concept racer for Gran Turismo 6.
Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey designed the Red Bull X2014 with game designer Kazunori Yamauchi for the world famous Gran Turismo franchise.
The X2014 has been designed as the ultimate racing car, a Formula One car without rules and restrictions limiting it. Luckily it’s only available in a video game, as it’s unlikely you’d be able to cope with the g-forces in real life.
The Red Bull Racing Kart helps players practice circuits, braking and cornering before taking the challenging step up to the X2014 cars.
Three versions of the X2014 will be coming to Gran Turismo 6. The Red Bull X2014 Fan car, the Red Bull X2014 Standard car and a smaller, less-powerful version dubbed the Red Bull X2014 Junior.
The Red Bull X2010 can lap the Goodwood Hill Climb in less than 30 seconds and the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife in around three minutes. Players will be eager to beat the records when the X2014 is released.
Gran Turismo gamers will learn how to drive these high downforce cars with advice from Red Bull Racing driver and four-time Formula One World Champion Sebastian Vettel in the form of a challenge mode.
"I've been playing Gran Turismo since I was 12," said Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel. "So to appear in the game myself as a mentor is great. I hope everyone enjoys the game."
