Daniel Ricciardo took his second career victory with a brilliant performance in the Hungarian Grand Prix that matched his outstanding maiden victory in Montreal.
As in Canada, the Infiniti Red Bull Racing driver took the lead with just three laps remaining, slipping by world champions Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso in the closing stages of the race.
Alonso finished a season-best second, closely followed by Hamilton and Nico Rosberg - the British driver beating his team-mate despite starting from the pit lane.
A wet start to the race made for a mixed up order and no driver took advantage more than Jean-Eric Vergne. The Toro Rosso driver ran second in the early stages and went on to finish an impressive ninth.
Sebastian Vettel finished just inches ahead of Valtteri Bottas for seventh place having escaped a dramatic spin early on.

Ricciardo shows his class

It was another stunning victory for Daniel Ricciardo as he finished on the podium for the fifth time in the last seven races. His Infiniti Red Bull Racing team nailed the perfect strategy for him in a tricky rain-affected race, and they were rewarded as the Aussie pulled off two stunning passes, firstly on Lewis Hamilton and then on Fernando Alonso to win.

Vergne fights at the front

Always handy in wet conditions, Jean-Eric Vergne drove a sensational race to run as high as second at the halfway point of the race. The Toro Rosso driver defended brilliantly from championship leader Nico Rosberg to hold his position at the front of the pack. He eventually finished in ninth.

From pits to the podium for Hamilton

After dominating the Free Practice sessions, and having won the last two races at the Hungaroring, Lewis Hamilton was looking set to make it a hat-trick in Hungary. That was until his car caught fire at the start of qualifying, meaning once again he’d have to start from the back.
Despite overtaking being notoriously tricky at the Hungaroring, Hamilton fought back to finish ahead of his team-mate Nico Rosberg despite a close fight between them at the end of the race.

Alonso back at the sharp end

Fernando Alonso came desperately close to taking his and Ferrari’s first win in over a year. The Spaniard led the race in the final few laps but after a strategic gamble his Pirelli tyres could not give anymore and he was passed by Daniel Ricciardo with just three laps to go.
