MotoGP riders know the Jerez de la Frontera circuit well. It's been home to the Spanish Grand Prix since 1987 and is used as an official off-season testing venue. Situated in Spain's sherry-making region the weather is usually good, although wetter conditions have spiced things up in recent years. This race is also one of the season's best attended, regularly attracting close to 250,000 fans throughout the weekend.
