The Red Bull Hare Scramble: as it happened…

12:03: Seppi Fally is the first rider to reach the summit of the inaugural climb of the 20th edition of the Red Bull Hare Scramble.

12:08: It looks like defending champion Graham Jarvis has run into difficulty at the start as Jonny Walker takes over the lead from Seppi Fally before entering Wasserleitung.

12:12: After impressing in qualification the weekend continues to look good for newcomer Taylor Robert as he holds a place in the top three at Badewanne.

12:28: Seasoned campaigner Andreas Lettenbichler is moving up the order through Devil’s Kitchen, but Walker is still out in front by over a minute from the German rider.

12:36: Things keep getting better for Walker, as he passes into the No Help Zone. The 2012 Red Bull Hare Scramble winner picks a quick path through Machine. The passage proves more difficult for Wade Young and Ben Hemingway who both get held up.

12:50: Walker gets through Elevator cleanly and his lead over second place Letti now stands at over four minutes.

13:00: Privateer Paul Bolton moves into the top five after tearing through One Way Train.

13:18: Dougie Lampkin and Lars Enöckl take a deep breath before testing themselves against Carl’s Dinner.

13:28: There’s been an expert recovery from Jarvis who is up to third place and trying his best to exert some late pressure on Walker.

13:34: That looks like the race won for Walker as he blasts his way up the steepest climb of the entire Red Bull Hare Scramble course with no problem whatsoever. Walker is yet to put a foot wrong this afternoon.

13:46: Jonny Walker reclaims his Red Bull Hare Scramble crown as he crosses the finish line to complete an absolute masterclass of Extreme Enduro riding.

13:59: 13 minutes later, runner-up Graham Jarvis finishes. Jarvis is quick to pay tribute to today’s champion, “Jonny rode his socks off!”

14:01: Andreas Lettenbichler completes the podium positions with Alfredo Gómez following closely behind in fourth.
