One year in the Big Apple wasn’t enough for Red Bull Music Academy. Following on from the phenomenal success of RBMA’s 15th-anniversary stint in New York last year, the global series of workshops and live events is returning to the city that never sleeps for the first of an annual month-long festival in May.

Fifteen events will take place over 31 days, and the incredible line-up includes live performances from Animal Collective’s Panda Bear and RBMA graduate success story Hudson Mohawke (pictured above), as well as parties thrown by ultimate events organiser Mister Saturday Night and one half of Tuff City Kids Gerd Janson. There’s even a public lecture with the notoriously reclusive and silky smooth soul singer D'Angelo at the Brooklyn Museum.

Check out the full line-up below and visit RBMA for ticket info.

Bounce Ballroom – May 1
Four dance crews and four DJs – including Todd Terry, Bobby Konders, DJ MikeQ and DJ Sliink – pay tribute to a NYC dance tradition at the Brooklyn Bazaar.

Atomic Bomb! The Music of William Onyeabor – May 2-3
An all-star line-up of artists gets together to play songs by William Onyeabor, the mysterious and talented Nigerian synth player. Expect to see David Byrne, Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor, The Lijadu Sisters, Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke, ex-LCD Soundsytem member Pat Mahoney and many more as they pay homage at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House.

Four Corners Of The Clash – May 9
Competitors in the 2013 RBMA NYC Culture Clash reunite for more aural warfare at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn – although this time, the hip Williamsburg barstaurant and event space will see the clashers reunite as friends and not as opponents.

Brooklyn Flea Record Fair – May 10
Spend a Saturday vinyl shopping at the Brooklyn Flea on the edge of the East River while artists from some of the Red Bull Music Academy's most beloved record labels DJ – including Sandra Electronics (Regis & Silent Servant), Optimo, Jesse Cohen (Tanlines), Autre Ne Veut and more.

Robert Henke’s Lumière & The Haxan Cloak – May 10
The North American premiere of Lumière, an audio/visual spectacle with a soundtrack performed by The Haxan Cloak in his US debut will be presented at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple.

Larry Levan Street Party – May 11
As part of the local initiative to rename King Street Larry Levan Way, the Red Bull Music Academy is proud to pay tribute to legendary NYC DJ Levan along with some of his most ardent supporters at the place that mattered to them most. The King Street takeover will feature David Depino, Francois Kevorkian, Joey Llanos and many more.

A Night Of Improvised Round Robin Duets – May 14
One of the most talked-about performances at last year's RBMA NYC, Round Robin Duets are back, pairing unlikely artists together for five minutes of joint improvisation.

Hardcore Activity In Progress – May 16
A thunderdome of noise from all corners, with musicians from all genres mixing it up under one roof at one time. Tim Hecker, Napalm Death, Gunplay, The Thing, Wolf Eyes, Regis, Bastard Noise and many more will be in attendance at the Knockdown Center in Queens.

Running Back: Gerd Janson All Night Long – May 17
A night of music, guided by one of the most accomplished DJs in the world (and RBMA team member), the one and only Gerd Janson

Panda Bear – May 18
Noah Lennox, aka Panda Bear, makes a rare appearance on stage in New York City. Aided by the visuals of longtime Animal Collective cohort Danny Perez, this event – co-presented with Wordless Music Series – will be a rare chance to see Lennox on stage as Panda Bear in NYC.

A Conversation With D’Angelo – May 21
Michael Eugene Archer revolutionized soul music like few others. As part of the Soulquarian movement, and friend and collaborator to Questlove, Lauryn Hill and Raphael Saadiq, D’Angelo carried on the legacy of Marvin Gaye and Prince, while fusing it with an off-kilter beat flourish akin to that of J Dilla. One of the world’s most celebrated performers, the Voodoo child will descend upon Brooklyn Museum for an intimate public lecture session.

The Mister Saturday Night House Party – May 24
Get down in the actual home of Mister Saturday Night. Address is given to ticket holders on the night of the party.

Hudson Mohawke and friends – May 28
Since graduating from the Red Bull Music Academy in 2007, Hudson Mohawke has become a household name for dance music fans and rap artists alike, thanks to his collaborations with fellow RBMA alumni Lunice (as TNGHT), Kanye West, and Drake. This night at Webster Hall will see him bring his live show to the stage, alongside a list of very familiar faces, ahead of his new record on Warp due later this year.

Lit City Trax – May 30
A night of grime ’n’ bass, future house and footwork from the people of Lit City.

A Class Of Its Own: RBMA Closing Night – May 31
15 former Red Bull Music Academy participants – including Yosi Horikawa, Lucrecia Dalt, DJ NIRE, Anenon, and more – share the stage to close out the first annual RBMA NYC Festival.
