Buraka Som Sistema co-founder Branko has widened his horizons over the past few years, journeying across the globe in search of new sounds. In five of those cities he landed in – Cape Town, New York, São Paulo, Amsterdam and back again to his hometown of Lisbon – he hit Red Bull Studios with local music-makers to record his debut album Atlas.
You can now join the Portuguese self-styled "global club music" star and Red Bull Music Academy studio team member on his travels in Atlas Unfolded, a five-part web series directed by fellow countryman João Retorta, who has worked on films and photography for The Fader and Dazed and Confused. Along the way you'll see Branko's late-night studio sessions with collaborators, and his conversations with them about their local scenes.
In episode one, Branko lands in Amsterdam to find out more about the city's cultural scene and work with local artists Fellow, Zanillya, THEprinceOFbeatz and Skip & Die.
