SKIP&DIE have been busy since releasing their 2012 debut album Riots In The Jungle. From their homes in Netherlands and South Africa they launched themselves around the world, playing gigs, festivals, and generally brightening up people's lives. Somehow they managed to find time to record a second album, Cosmic Serpents, and begin sketching out ideas for album number three.
The band's singer and visual artist Cata.Pirata, and her brother Alexander Dahms, filmed the band's mad trip and, pawing through hours and hours of footage, they've turned their journey into a three-part series called Roots & Routes.
Following their on-the-road experience in episode one, this week's instalment investigates the band's motivation for making music in the first place and the records and songs that inspire them.
"The series reveals who SKIP&DIE are," explains Cata.Pirata. "What we stand for and the passion we put into our work and lives. It's about the inspiring people we meet along the way and the trials and tribulations of life on the road."
Watch episode two in the player above and keep your eyes peeled for episdoe three next week.
