Thaynan Costa lives in Portugal, but was originally born in Brazil. The first time he stepped on to a board, he knew what he wanted to do in his life - to make a living from skateboarding. As a grom, Thaynan got a lot of inspiration from movies like Emerica's ‘Stay Gold’ and ‘Lords of Dogtown’.
With the help and dedication of his father, they moved to Portugal in search of opportunity. This move obviously paid off as, in 2010, he won the amateur division at the National Championships in Portugal and was immediately moved up to the pro division.
From then on, he spent his time travelling around Europe racking up results, such as winning the Volcom WITP Championships in Portugal, being the European Champion at the Element ‘Make it Count’ competition in Belgium and 3rd at the Volcom WITP Championships in Prague.
With constant help and encouragement from fellow skaters Johan Stuckey, Dylan Rieder, Brad Cromer and Elijah Berle, Thaynan's skill and style improve day by day. In the long run, Thaynan’s ultimate goal is just to be happy and do what he likes most in life - skateboarding.Read more
