Unfortunately, they are all outside of Finland!”, explains Jaakko “Jaske” Ojanen, our up-and-coming talent from Tampere. Very laid-back, he might prefer to spend time hanging out and skating with friends, but he’s by no means a stranger to the event circuit.
At only 10, Jaakko gave a glimpse of his precocious talent when he entered his first national championship and won. He describes the championship as the most emotional moment of his life to date – yet in the years since his first big win, Jaakko has travelled far and wide.
In 2009, he took the Volcom European Wild in the Parks junior title. Two years later, Jaakko was back on top, with his Volcom European Wild in the Parks championship title earning him a spot in the US championship in Austin, Texas.
Jaakko has also lent his expertise to the judging panel of the first ever Finnish Red Bull Manny Mania, but also being one of just a handful of contenders representing Finland at Simple Session. In 2012, Jaakko won the Best Trick in Tallinn and has since been putting it down for independent video productions as well as touring as far apart as Costa Rica and Bulgaria, which he hit up as part of a cruise ship tour commissioned by Red Bull to create one of the most memorable video series of 2015!Read more
