“I want to land a 900 sometime soon" explained Singaporean skater Farris Rahman in an interview recently. Always looking to add to his trick list, the ATV skater is only the second athlete to be signed in Singapore. It was Farris’ natural talent that made him stand out as a skater with serious potential.
Farris has been skating since he was just four years old. His come- up follows a familiar story of hard graft, consistency and heart. His motto- “ Always try things worth trying, and never give less than your best” has stood him in good stead, in skating and in life.
His first big break came in 2011, when the Singaporean came second in street at the 2011 Asian X-Games in Shanghai, and he turned a lot of heads at the 2012 Maloof Money Cup when he scooped a 6th.
For now, perhaps, his biggest goal in life – space travel – might not be on the cards but if he keeps the level- headedness and composure that brought him this far, his skating career should be stratospheric.Read more
