Hi, my name is Simon Stricker. My discipline is skateboard street. My friends call me Stricki. I was born on 3 August 1991 in Switzerland. My special talent is mechanics and photography. My philosophy of life is to take yourself to your limits time and time again. My favourite food is Asian and Mexican food. My favourite music is rock and classic hits.

Simon Stricker began skateboarding at ten, heralding the beginning of a love affair with the old plank, and a life dedicated to skating it.

He grew up with a small clique of skateboarding friends in Bachenbülach, a small village near Zurich airport, hitting up local skateparks and just generally schralping around.

"I've always had fun with skating, learning new things… and it’s also just really practical as a means of transport;" he says. After visiting a skatepark in Winterthur, he filmed a short edit and it wasn’t long before Simon had landed his first sponsors. By 2008, Simon had become both Bowl and Street Junior Swiss Champion, and the following year he was riding with the elite.

A five-minute edit filmed with Pascal Duschletta in Los Angeles, Athens, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Stuttgart and Switzerland brought his talent to a worldwide audience, and he’s got ambitions to spend more time in the US to progress.

"I think I'm pretty versatile," he says. "but you have to know your limits. I always try to make small steps”.  He is well supported by the Illumate distribution crew headed by Soerfi Schweingruber in Switzerland, recently hitting LA with them.

Simon was a vital part of our '40 Shades' Ireland tour which was shortlisted for a 2014 European Sport Tourism award and with a ballistic interview section dropping on the skate channel here in early 2015 his star is only set to rise. Lovely dude, thoroughly deserving of everything that comes his way.
