Beautiful beaches, epic nightlife and amazing spots. Sydney, Australia has got it all.

Rated consistently as one of the top 10 most liveable cities in the world, it’s hard to deny that Sydney and its surrounds make for one hell of a playground. Amazing beaches, a beautiful harbour, spots a plenty and a nightlife that will happily envelope you in its boozy warmth are just some of the factors that make this place one of Australia’s favourite skate destinations. Here’s what five local lurkers have to say about this iconic city.

RYAN WILSON

Best thing about Sydney: It’s constantly changing.

Worst thing about Sydney: It’s changing for the worse.

Best skatepark?
I don’t really like Waterloo that much, but that’s where I seem to go. I think the place is kinda bad luck for me or somethin’.

Best beach? One that has no sand.

What is your favorite time of year there? Christmas Day.

Best pub for a cold beer and a good feed? The Lord Nelson.

Favourite Sydney skateboarder? Chima Ferguson.

What advice would you give someone visiting Sydney for the first time? Just skate around the city all day… then go to the pub.

BEAU REED

Best thing about Sydney? Girls and beaches.

Worst thing about Sydney? Tona Ferguson.

Best skatepark? Waterloo, because it’s the only park we have.

Best beach? Bronte, because there are topless girls and you can go fishing there.

What is your favorite time of year there? Summer time.

Best pub for a cold beer and a good feed? The Dock, they got dope dumplings.

Favouirte Sydney skateboarder? Waterloo George.

What advice would you give someone visiting Sydney for the first time?: If you haven’t been here at least once, you’re blowing it.

CORBIN HARRIS

Best thing about Sydney? It's home. Family, friends and the best food & coffee in the world.

Worst thing about Sydney?
Sometimes it's so insular, some people have no idea what's going on anywhere else.

Best skatepark? Bondi skatepark, because it's on the most iconic beach in the world. Also Five Dock skatepark because of the snake run style course and it's big.

Best beach? I don't have just one. Sand shoes at Cronulla, South end of Bondi and Avalon on the Northern Beaches.

What is your favorite time of year there? September/October when it's quiet. You can still wear jumpers at night but still kick it at the beach all day. February/March is when it gets crazy with people, surfing & skateboarding contests.

Best pub for a cold beer or a good feed? Icebergs, Bondi, middle level. It's like an old RSL club with pokies, you can bet on the doggies and have cheap cold Coopers Pale Ale on tap.

Favouirte Sydney skateboarder? Michael Davidson.

What advice would you give someone visiting Sydney for the first time? You need two weeks minimum so you can do the city, The South Coast and the Northern Beaches. Check out the Brett Whitley art gallery in Surry Hills. Get on a boat and do Sydney Harbour because it's the greatest harbour in the WORLD!

CHIMA FERGUSON

Best thing about Sydney? Tis the only major city guided by the sea. Tis beautiful.

Worst thing about Sydney? I don't get to kick it there so often these days.

Best skatepark? Waterloo. It's the closest to the city and it's where all the lads kick it at.

Best beach? Tamarama is the loveliest beach because it's smaller so it doesn't get so crowded; it's also the best to snorkel at.

What is your favorite time of year there? Summer time because that’s when I usually get to go home and see my family.

Best pub for a cold beer and a good feed? There's a few around Darlinghurst where I normally kick it while at home but if I had to pick one, I'd say The Shakespeare!

Favouirte Sydney skateboarder? Michael Davidson, Dean Armour, Sid Tapia. I grew up looking up to all three of them so I can't choose just one.

What advice would you give someone visiting Sydney for the first time? Go get pissed and hit the nicest beaches the world has to offer… Sydney for life!

JAKE HAYES

Best thing about Sydney? Martin Place

Worst thing about Sydney?
City Rangers and cops.

Best skatepark?
Waterloo. It’s a good place to meet up before going out skating.

Best beach?
I don’t really go to the beach. This pasty white skin can’t deal with the sun.

What is your favorite time of year there? Spring.

Best pub for a cold beer and a good feed? The Shakespeare Hotel.

Favouirte Sydney skateboarder?
Juan Onekawa

What advice would you give someone visiting Sydney for the first time?
Make sure you save extra money, everything is expensive.
