Julian Eberhard, younger brother of biathlete Tobias Eberhard, has skied since he was a young boy. With an older brother to look up to and compete against, it didn’t take Julian long to develop an interest in the biathlon.
Since 2004, the athlete from Saalfelden in Austria has raced in many international youth competitions, first coming to prominence when he participated in the 2005 World Youth Championship in Kontiolahti. By 2007, Julian had achieved his first place on the podium, when he took silver in the relay event at the European Junior Championships in Bansko.
Currently, Julian and his brother occupy two places on the Austrian biathlon team and, along with the rest of his team-mates, are trained by none other than former world-class biathlete, Alfred Eder. Alfred’s tutelage has greatly increased Julian’s skill and dexterity, but he has also benefited from the experience of his fellow team-mates.
Julian’s aptitude as a biathlete improves every day – the younger Eberhard sibling still has a lot left to give, and hopes to one day have at home a huge collection of gold medals.Read more
