Fabian Lentsch is one of the biggest up-and-coming freeride talents around, whose lines make the viewers shake their heads and hold their breath.

"A lot of people think, I am crazy. But that's not true. I just want to push my limits and improve," says the 21-year-old from Tyrol.

At the end of last season one of Lentsch's runs went viral, even making it onto US talk shows – probably a first for a European freeskier – and then a few days ago he won the 'Line of the Year' award, a well deserved recognition from the freeride scene.

A lot of people think, I am crazy. But that's not true. I just want to push my limits and improve.

This weekend Lentsch will take part in the first stop of the Freeride World Tour at Mont Blanc, and compete later this season at the FWT stop in Fieberbrunn.

The video above traces his way towards the Freeride World Tour, his training, his struggles and finally his qualification – including the crazy-ass line mentioned above. Check it out.

Come back on Monday to see the best runs of the Freeride World Tour comp in Chamonix, where maybe Lentsch will feature.

In case you'd ever like to meet Fabian Lentsch in person too, you can sign up at at Nadine Wallner's Offlines Camp, where he'll be one of the pro coaches sharing his experiences.
