“Merry Christmas Pat, we got you a career!” When Pat Moore was just a boy his parents bought him a shiny new snowboard for Christmas; little did they know just how much of an effect it would have young Pat’s life. When he was old enough, he joined Waterville Academy’s Snow Program where he received a special kind of training, the kind where you spend the morning in the classroom and the afternoon on the slopes. By the time he was 15 he had made the Forum Youngblood team and within a year of that he had joined the World Junior Team. From there he started competing in major competitions, all the while going home each day to do his homework! Before long, Pat had gone pro!
Over the years it’s become clear that Moore just can’t commit to one discipline; he had to go and be good at them all! Pat took 3rd place in the US Grand Prix Halfpipe in the 02/03 season and landed 2nd place at the Vans Triple Crown in the Slopestyle event the following year. In addition, Pat stood on the podium for the Quarterpipe event at the Oakley Arctic Challenge in 2007 and has had good runs at not only the FIS World Cup, but also the Winter X Games.
Pat has also appeared in numerous high-profile snowboarding films, such as the groundbreaking titles The Community Project and Travis Rice’s That’s It, That’s All. Other titles include Forum’s Forum or Against ‘Em and Video Gangs.
