Women to take the plunge in cliff diving

Red Bull Cliff Diving will be hosting its first ever women's competition on July 13.

The unique event will take place the day before the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series stop in Italy's Malcesine.

Featuring three rounds of cliff dives, the female participants. including German high diver Anna Bader (pictured), will take off from 21 metres before landing in Lake Garda – barely two seconds later and via a mind-boggling series of somersaults and twists!

Between six and eight female athletes will take part, with the divers' list so far including Anna Bader (GER), Ginger Huber (USA), Jacqueline Valente (BRA), Lysanne Richard (CAN), Stephanie De Lima (CAN) and Tara Hyer (USA).

With the extreme sport of cliff diving continuing to grow and its exponents becoming ever more daring, Red Bull Cliff Diving is offering a global platform for women to showcase their talent.
