Red Bull Art of Motion lands on October 3 for the fifth consecutive year in Santorini, the Cycladic island that has become the event’s home ground.

However, for the first time this year the track has moved from Caldera, where it established itself as the ultimate freerunning challenge, to Oia, bringing new challenges on a different track!

The track on Oia may look smaller, with fewer levels, however it is a lot wider and it spreads in different directions giving the athletes the opportunity to make more combinations of their tricks.

Furthermore, the natural obstacles, such as the roofs, steps and white walls, are really close to one another and that creates more of a 'playground' feel to it, where the freerunners can improvise.

Most importantly though, this track is set up right in front of the gorgeous sunset in Oia and this will inevitably offer excitement and challenges for the Red Bull Art of Motion 'veterans' and 'newbies'.

Today’s Onsite Qualifier was a small taster of the spectacle that the best freerunners will offer on Saturday, October 3, on the most “natural” track in the world.

More packed than ever before, the 81 freerunners traveled from 21 countries to the cosmopolitan island to earn their ticket to the main event. After kick ass tricks, runs and drops, the judges selected the six athletes that would complete the final roster. These are Achraf Dibani, Robert Reese, Jason Paul, Johan Stahle, Dominic Di Tommaso & Erik Mukhametshyn.

The top scorer from Morocco stated:

This year I started over after a bad injury on my shoulder and I managed to improve my style. I came here with my friends hoping for the best and I am very happy to have qualified to the final event on Saturday.

The fifth anniversary of Red Bull Art of Motion has relocated to Oia from Firostefani and the athletes that will get the chance to flip, spin and drop on the new track are the top six that made it through from last year’s final, the six athletes that qualified through the online qualifier (four men and two women) and the roster is now complete with the six Onsite Qualifier winners from today.
