Hi, my name is Carlos Nogales. My discipline is surfing big wave. My friends call me Coco. I was born on 25 April 1976 in Aguascalientes, Mexico. My philosophy of life is do what you love, love what you do. The most important person in my life is me. My favourite food is fruit, fish, pasta and vegetables. My favourite music is hip hop, reggae, electronic, chill out and salsa, depends where I am and who I am with.

Puerto Escondido is often referred to as the Mexican Pipeline, and that claim is 100 percent legit.

The Mainland Mex beach break is known for producing cavernous tubes, and the big days separate the men from the mad men.

Carlos 'Coco' Nogales falls into the latter category.

Born and raised at Mexi-Pipe, Coco is the original Mexican charger. He commands the line-up out there, and he does so in the friendliest way possible – with a smile. Because why wouldn't he? You'd be smiling all the time too if you got as barrelled as Carlos.
