It's been the same old story on the 2013 ASP Women's World Tour. Ever since the start of the year, two young ladies have been duking it out for the top spot while everyone else contests for second. Carissa Moore and Tyler Wright have been neck and neck respectively, while the rest of the tour just tries to keep pace. And on the opening day at Le Penon in Seignosse, things were no different.
Standout of the Day: Carissa Moore and Tyler Wright — enough said.
Honorable Mention: Sally Fitzgibbons stuck it to Stephanie Gilmore, and beating a 5-time world champ is certainly no easy task. Sally was also attempting some pretty spectacular airs in her heats. Courtney Conologue continues to impress and intimidate with her Santa Ana power surfing, and she's another worth viewing in the heats on demand.
What to Watch For: If the rivalry gods are feeling grateful, then watch for a Carissa Moore VS Tyler Wright final — wouldn't that be delicious? If the RGs take a day off, then watch for Sally Fitz to stick a big air.
