These 8 Jaws wipeouts will blow your mind

Eight of the worst wipeouts of the winter at Jaws

The giant cheques may have been handed out to the bravest chargers at this past weekend’s Big Wave Awards show in Anaheim, California, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep enjoying these guys' glory.
For our latest video series, called Hit&Run, we're presenting amazing short edits of the very best surf action from around the world. Last month, we brought you the worst cold-water wipeouts from Northern California's Mavericks for our very first Hit&Run edit – now it’s time for the worst from the warm waters of Jaws in Maui, Hawaii.
From the tireless Carbajal brothers, the men behind #MauiCartel, we present to you eight exceptionally cringe-worthy wipeouts from one of the best winters in big wave surfing history. Together, Adam and Carlo have logged hundreds of hours at Jaws this season, and captured every legendary moment.
Prepare to feel the wind howling in your ears watching this one – before they got smashed into Poseidon's depths, these eight surfers, including Kai Lenny, Albee Layer and Tom Dosland, spent a lot of time falling from the sky.

Kai Lenny

Kiteboarder, windsurfer, wing foiler and so much more – even his name means 'sea' in Hawaiian. Kai was destined to become the world's greatest-ever waterman.
