Owen Milne’s shooting for (and with) the stars

Come and meet a young Aussie with big plans and an ever-growing network of shredders keen to shoot.
By Chris Binns

Owen Milne is a 21-year-old surfer, skater and filmmaker from the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia.

As a young buck Owen grew up filming local heroes, like the hard-charging Andrew Mooney, while having world tour stalwarts like Matt Wilkinson and Adrian Buchan in the neighbourhood wasn't a bad thing either.

Owen's tireless work ethic and drive to succeed has seen him produce projects with guys like Kiwi maestro Ricardo Christie, and travel to Hawaii – his Black Friday Pipeline clip continuing to rack up the views a few years later.

In 2016 Owen's body of work included filming some of the world's best on the Gold Coast – take a bow Mick Fanning and Jordy Smith – before heading to Pitstop Hill in the Mentawai Islands to pull focus for Alex Smith and Riley Laing. There, not only did he become firm friends with the mythical Johnny Jungle, whose incredible shots we see below, but he pulled together the show reel we see above.

Owen is a young gun with a passion to pursue his talents, and as more of the world's best sign up to surf in front of his lens that drive and determination show no sign of slowing down, with we the viewer the winner. Good stuff all round.
