Last week, we took you to Ireland. Before we take off for the next destination, let's dive deep into the Emerald Isle's coastal countryside one last time, where around every empty, rocky bend there might await another perfect slab.
Here, in Chapter 2 of Chasing the Shot: Ireland, guide and keen surfer Barry Mottershead leads photographer Mark McInnis, filmer Ben Weiland and surfers Cody Thompson, Justin Quintal and Nate Zoller to a remote stretch of coast in the hope of scoring an empty slab. It was a roll of the dice, but one, as you'll see in the edit above, that paid off in spades.
Good waves obviously make a successful surf trip, but so does some quality cultural immersion. So when plenty of turns, airs and tubes were safely put down on film, the crew spent a bit of time wandering Ireland's amazing small towns, which have been planted along the Atlantic coast for centuries, no doubt witness to countless perfect waves. To score just one, as the crew found out, was pretty amazing luck.
Enjoy the final chapter of this installment of Chasing the Shot, and stay tuned for our next stop, no doubt somewhere off the beaten path.
