Cruise down under to kickstart the world tour year

No Contest rejoins the world’s best as they reassemble in Australia for season ‘17.
By Chris Binns

It's hard to believe it has already been 12 months since Red Bull first jumped aboard the world tour bus with our favourite filmer Jacob Wooden. In that time we've witnessed new men's and women's world champs, seen Matt Wilkinson go from strength to strength, crowned Michel Bourez as a Pipe Master, and generally ridden shotgun as the planet's finest surfers have gone about their business of seeking out and destroying the best waves they can.

A superb run of summer waves on Australia's east coast coincided with the world tour's return down under for the new year, and with Woody saddling up behind the camera we couldn't have been more excited to get things going once again. Clearly, Julian Wilson and Kolohe Andino were in form, but how was Mick Fanning going to look after a year off chasing waves around the planet? Was the legendary Kelly Slater coming back to chase title number 12?

We wanted answers, as we're sure you do too, and that's what No Contest is all about. Press play on 2017's first episode now to step outside the world tour scene and find out a little more about what makes your favourite surfers tick. We're excited to be back, can't wait to see where this year takes us and are thrilled to have you along for the ride.
