Mohammed Khalil and Salman Essa took first place in the first ever Red Bull Bar Bahr to hit the kingdom. The duo controlled the final race on land and sea from the start and left the other teams battling for minor medals. Second place went to Isa Karimi and Ahmed Al Thawadi while
Hassan Ahmed and Abdulla Al Jowder rounded the podium. Their winning team prize was a combination prize of cash and sporting accessories valued at about BHD1,000.
“This was an unprecedented race for Bahrain, and the outcome was totally unexpected. One person couldn't have made it to the championship alone, so it was definitely a team effort that got us to the top.” Said the duo of Mohamed Khalil and Salman Essa.
The event started early in the morning with scrutineering, where the quad bikes and the jet skis had to pass safety and technical checks. This was followed by the drivers briefing, where all drivers received a full safety briefing and instructions on how to operate on the tracks. Drivers
also displayed their safety equipment, approved by the Race Director.
The teams were divided into five groups and the first race took place at 10:40am. Only the first ntwo teams were qualified from each group. The contestants had to navigate a challenging track of man-made obstacles such as ramps, bumps and curves. The first quad racer who crossed
the finish line signaled his jet ski teammate in order to start racing on water.
The event was organized by Red Bull Bahrain at Bahrain Bay, in collaboration the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority, PowerUp Magazine, Yamaha, GoPro, and OrangeMedia ME.
