Hi, my name is Fernanda Maciel. My discipline is endurance. I was born on 24 January 1981 in Minas Gerais. My philosophy of life is Move positive. My favourite food is salmon sashimi and octopus.

A lover of sport and nature Fernanda Maciel is one of the most renowned ultramarathon athletes in the world today.

The sport has always been present in Fernanda's life from the age of eight. At 23, she began to participate in international 600km 'non stop' adventure racing.

Over the years, she progressed in each facet of adventure racing (kayak, MTB, trail running), multi-sports (snowboarding, MTB, downhill, speed, trail running), triathlon and marathons over mountains to become a great endurance athlete.

Today, Fernanda's achievements include being the first woman to run the Camino de Santiago Compostela (860km in 10 days) and was second on the Ultra Trail Mount Fuji (169km).

"When I'm running on top of mountains or paddling in the ocean, I feel so small and yet I feel the most intense feelings of freedom and peace," she says.
