Rising UAE Rockers Set to Open for Bon Jovi
Remember the name Carl & The Reda Mafia, as you'll be hearing a lot more of them in the future. The Dubai-based band has just been selected to open for legendary US rockers, Bon Jovi on October 1st at du Arena, Yas Island.
Signed to UAE home-grown label White Cube Studios, the quartet were hand-picked to open for Jon Bon Jovi and co. after impressing organisers with their unique sound of rock n roll fused with a touch of funk and blues.
Hailing from four countries in three continents - India, Egypt Nigeria and Greece, to be precise - Carl & The Reda Mafia comprises lead singer Carl Frenais, guitarist Tarek Reda, drummer Abimbola, and Chris on bass (yup, those two only go by a first name).
October's concert will mark their very first appearance opening for a major world-renowned act. Understandably, when White Cube's Waleed Shah revealed the news to them, they couldn't quite believe their luck.
