Here’s a peep into Sophie’s world:
What’s been your greatest motivation?
Both music and the intense bond with the crowd motivate me; I love interacting with the crowd and seeing them go crazy with me. Knowing I can make or break an evening is challenging, motivating and super addictive. I love it.
How did you acquire the support of global DJs for your first 3 singles?
I believe I brought out the energy within me in those singles and they got played in clubs and festivals. I also believe they had distinctive elements in them; for instance, the break in “Bad Boy" was almost old style reggae which is unusual, making it special.
What is your dream as a professional DJ?
After finishing school next year, I will be focusing on music 200%; I plan to divide my time between touring and producing music.
What was your favorite part of the #HelloYellow Illusion event in Qatar?
The Red Bull team was cool, the venue was great and I got to taste my first Red Bull energy drink - the Yellow Edition was lovely. Everything was just awesome!
What are your plans for this year?
“Walls” came out on the day I played for Red Bull in Qatar; it is rated high, #6 on Spotify Viral Chart in The Netherlands. During ADE I plan to launch my new track “Don’t stop”; I will be playing a special action sponsored by KPN at Amsterdam Center and moving to the big arenas. I also intend to finish two more tracks this year while playing every weekend and holiday as I finish school.
