Sasha Christian - State of Flow

What does it really take to prepare to execute those seemingly gravity-defying wakeboarding tricks?
Red Bull athlete Sasha Christian makes it look so easy, but the pint-sized powerhouse generously spent a day out on the water with redbull.com, and showed us how one of her favourite tricks, “Roll to Revert”, is done from start to finish.
Check out the full video, which captures Sasha’s love of her chosen sport in breathtakingly slow motion.
Ever since her mother fitted her with her first pair of skis when Sasha was only 3 years old, the indomitable athlete has proven time and again that she has the talent and tenacity to shine in the competitive circuit of wakeboarding - characteristics that has established her as one of Singapore’s most recognisable sportsmen.
Despite recent injuries hampering her training schedule leading up to her latest outing at the 28th SEA Games, Sasha has stomped ahead of the competition, winning gold for Singapore in the women’s individual wakeboard, women’s slalom categories, as well as the women’s team wakeboard event. Ever the perfectionist, Sasha also achieved her aim of doing a stand-up pass (completing all her tricks without falling) in her events.
Says Sasha on her recent performance at the games: “It was a huge honour to represent Singapore at the 2015 SEA Games, and to perform in front of my family and friends is amazing. Bringing home the gold made it even sweeter.”
