See how the World Champ overcame a puncture to chase down the 200-strong field.
Red Bull Foxhunt with Jeep was back for 2016. The world’s only all female downhill MTB event headed to Melmerby Scar, in the Eden Valley, Cumbria with a pack of 200+ riders set to try and outride the best female downhill racer in the world – Rachel Atherton.
The event took place over a full weekend, in a festival of female downhill MTB action, with camping available from Friday night through to Sunday. For the first time, the Eden Valley hosted the chase, with a new course at Melmerby Scar that tested rider's technical ability and competitive edge, as they tried to stay ahead of Rachel over a challenging 2km course.
Speaking about the event, Rachel Atherton said, “It was absolutely amazing. I got a puncture right at the start, but I knew I had to carry on – this is Red Bull Foxhunt! It was so cool watching the women riding down– I was right in the middle of everybody. I had to really think and use my head to get past people."
