Preparations are underway for the 2017 World Rally Championship season, with manufacturers – although sadly not Volkswagen following the announcement that they were withdrawing from the sport at the end of 2016 – testing their new cars.

These new cars are set to be the most radical World Rally Championship machines since the Group B era of the 1980s, with bigger aero packages and increased turbo boost bringing the cars’ horsepower figures up from around 315bhp to nigh on 380bhp.
M-Sport driver Elfyn Evans has been busy testing the team’s 2017 Ford Fiesta in south-eastern France – and it sounds like a beast! Check out the videos below, posted by rally fan Anthony Bailet, as Evans pedals the Fiesta through a string of Monte Carlo-esque mountain passes. Bring on 2017!
