Pow! Snowy just launched a new video for his track Knots on SBTV, and now we’ve got the full six-track EP, exclusively here on Redbull.com.

You might remember Snowy from last year’s Raise The Bar, which saw 46 MCs hit Red Bull Studios London and battle to get their bars on a ZDot production. The 19-year-old Nottingham MC was one of the five selected to be on the final track, so we thought we’d ask him back to record his debut EP. The result is Knots, a fiery display of brutally honest lyricism and cutting-edge grime beats from producers S-X, Riddla, JEB1, YXNGZ D and Greeze Team.

So how did Knots come together?

Snowy: A lot of the tracks had been written a while ago, but they felt like a good mixture of material to put together on an EP. I got an invitation from Red Bull Studios, so I came down to London to record them all properly.

The scene here has been going on for years, but people get big locally, then fade away. I’m going to change all that – Nottingham’s saviour!

Is the EP's title a shout out to Nottingham?

In a way, yeah, it is – but it’s also a double meaning, a double entendre. The Knots track is quite personal – it’s about feeling a bit up and down, my head being all over the place. Questioning if what I’m doing in life is the right choice.

When did you first pick up a mic?

I started in 2008, so I’ve been MCing for eight years now. I started on the estates when I was 11, made a Nottingham name, and started making more and more power moves as time went on. I’ve always spat on grime. Used to spit on dubstep, on hip-hop a bit – but now it’s grime primarily.

How is the Nottingham grime scene?

The main guys I work with are Mez, Kyeza, D Dot – and there’s producers too, like Riddla and Greeze Team. The scene here has been going on for years, but people get big locally, then fade away. I’m going to change all that – Nottingham’s saviour!

What’s happening for you in 2016?

I’ve got another video, for Fucked Up, due to drop soon. I’m always in the studio, so there’s other singles coming – there’s another coming with Sticky Blood before the end of the month.
