Hi, my name is Braden Currie. My discipline is adventure racing and mountain running. My friends call me Slug. I was born on 30 May 1986 in Methven, New Zealand. My philosophy of life is race hard, have fun, enjoy life. My favourite food is from Fergburger in Queenstown. My favourite music is Kings of Leon, Kora, Shapeshifter and Six 60.

Braden hit the multisport scene with a bang, creating a buzz that had people talking and Braden thinking. Finding himself face to face with a career opportunity he had immense passion and talent for, but also well known to be financially high-risk, cut-throat and demanding, Braden had a decision to make.

It didn't prove to be a difficult one – anything involving risk, excitement and challenge sets off a spark within Braden and it wasn't long before he was racing alongside some of the world's best.

With momentum on his side, Braden has since clocked up many kilometres of hard, relentless training, and consistent podium finishes in Xterra, multisport, half ironman and multi-day adventure races. A back-to-back win at the World Multisport Championships and a 5th place at the World Xterra Championships cemented his place amongst the world's elite.

With New Zealand's most highly-qualified coach and the indisposable support of his family – wife Sally Currie and children Tarn and Bella – Braden is living his dream.
