#AdventureShot – how did he paddle out of that?!

“It’s very challenging to take a good whitewater kayaking photo – especially in this case,” says Anze Osterman. To get this shot, he had to climb into the section known as 'Jubilation' in Slovenien, standing knee deep in the powerful stream with one hand gripping the rocks and the other on the camera. Not easy to do in this year's heavy summer waterflow.

So, two questions: where is this wicked spot, and did athlete Zan Kuncic paddle out of this upright? “This is a 200m long boulder garden in the big gorge of the river Soča. And yes, he paddled out of this position – a stout lean to a perfect boof without tipping over!”
