Born in 1990, Mohamed Abu Issa has had a passion for quads since he can remember. At an early age, he began to develop his talents to become a professional Quad Racer.
In the early years of his career, Mohamed reached the podium multiple times in Enduro and Quad Cross on a national level, but his true sights were set on the international stage. In 2013 he participated in his debut FIM Quads Cross Country Rallies World Cup where he finished in a groundbreaking second position!
Mohamed went on to become the first Qatari rider to finish the infamous Dakar Rally on a quad, coming fourth overall and leading the junior category in his class. This was a career highlight for Mohamed and it enabled him to continue into the 2014 World Cup with confidence.
2014 was an unforgettable year for Mohamed, with third place in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge and first place in his home country at the Sealine Cross Country Rally Qatar. 2015 looked equally promising; Mohamed was in contention for a podium after finishing Stage 4 in 4th place overall. But 361km in his engine failed and he was forced to retire from the race.
But the Qatari rider has a great potential, and is definitely one to watch in future editions of the Dakar Rally.Read more
