X Games Munich: photo blast

Mountain bike slopestyle takes centre stage in Bavaria.

Mountain bike slopestyle made it's X Games debut on a suitably massive course constructed by Tarek Rasouli and his team. The world's best freeriders did battle to see who'd walk away with their name in the history books.

Brandon may have been happy to be back on the podium but seeing the current form rider at the top of the FMB World Tour, Brett Rheeder, ahead of him won't have pleased him.

Anton Thelander: Red Bull Phenom

After an aborted first run, the pressure was on Anton Thelander and he duly obliged with what would turn out to be the Red Bull Phenom winning run. It included a massive flat-spin 360, a tailwhip on the step-up and a 360 off the final drop.

Brett Rheeder added to an already stellar season with a history making gold in the very first mountain bike slopestyle competition at the X Games. Flip-whip over the first gap, front flip over the step-up and a super-smooth 360 over the final drop sealed the deal.

Rheeder, Semenuk and Lacondeguy make history with medals in the first ever mountain bike slopestyle comp at the X Games. Given the event's FMB diamond rating, they all received a serious points haul too.
