Specialized's 2014 Enduro SX is something a little bit different and dare we even say 'refreshing'. Of course, all bikes are inherently fun, we're not doubting that. But some bikes are just that little bit more fun than others...

Designed for gated racing, the Enduro SX has 100mm of travel thanks to a dinky Fox Float CTD rear shock custom-tuned to offer three compression settings to propel the little berm-basher forward.

This is an extremely specialist piece of kit obviously, but one that we feel may just be the ultimate 'messing about on' bike. Like a chuckable hardtail but with bounce, you could scare yourself stupid on DH tracks, clear (or attempt to clear) the triple down at the BMX track or just do wheelies and skids until all your friends have been called in for tea!

In this mountain bike world of ours, we can often get caught up with performance, stats and the genrefication of just about everything. Sometimes it's cool to see a bike we just want to ride everything on and not take too seriously.

Specialized are remaining tight-lipped on production numbers but they're expected to be low. Two sizes (short and long) will be offered. More details are available on the Specialized website.
