Aaron Chase's global travels often land the mountain biker in the middle of a remote forest, but rare circumstances can put the adventure rider in unexpected locations ... like the guts of a teeming South American city.
[It's] one of the last places in the world that's still raw and untouched
The idea was to take urban downhill riding to its dirtiest, darkest places — watch the video above to see the riders navigate steep pitches, unmanicured wallrides and high-speed manuals (wheelies) through horn-honking traffic.
Beginning above the city, in the hills near the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Chase — joined by Red Bull Rampage rider Chris Van Dine and local Yannick Wende Bussiere — descend upon town in the most playful manner possible.
Seemingly any terrain crossing the riders path promptly received tire marks — wallrides, jumps over fences into parking lots and gaps of every sort: Sidewalks, small creeks and even between cars in town. At one point, even some rogue cattle and a few stray dogs are encountered.
"[It's] one of the last places in the world that's still raw and untouched," said Chris Van Dine of the motivation to explore the town of Cusco. "It's something I'm intrigued by."
